Scott Heineman was a 2015 former Texas Rangers draft choice. The University of Oregon Product After the Rangers signed former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Jimmy Herget, Heineman was tapped for the assignment. Cincinnati swooped in and made a trade for the outfielder before facing waivers.

Heineman should add some depth to the Reds’ outfield and offer some reassurance to Joey Votto at first base. Heineman had long been known for his power, but he struggled to make contact with Texas in his first two years in the Bigs.

Heineman was assigned to Triple-A Louisville before the start of the 2021 season but left for the Reds in late May. Heineman made it in 19 games for the Reds last season before being called up for action. In his brief stint with Cincinnati, Heineman only hit .100/.206/.300.

Heineman accepted his stint with Triple-A Louisville but was fired later in the summer. Eventually, Scott Heineman signed a contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball. The 29-year-old was recently signed to the minor league side of the Seattle Mariners. Maybe he’ll get another chance to make a difference in the big leagues.
