MADworld, UClex, Psychic VR Lab and Animoca Brands Japan to showcase XR art at NFT.NYC 2022


HONG KONG, June 17, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Crazy world, UCOLLEX, Psychic VR Laboratoryand Animoca brands KK (“Animoca Brands Japan”) are co-presenting an XR NFT Art Exhibition at NFT.NYC when it takes place June 20-23, 2022 in New York City.

The Extended Reality (“XR”) NFT Art Exhibition will be the “STYLISH“Platform that makes it possible to overlay and distribute XR content in a lifelike, urban Metaverse environment using only a smartphone or augmented reality (“AR”) glasses.

The collaboration with MADworld aims to bring NFT technology together with Japanese art and culture by overlaying their artworks over a virtual cityscape of New York City. Additionally, the exhibition features an amazing roster of artists such as Hiroshi Mori, Masayuki Kojo, Kenichi Asano, Crazy Chocolate, Minori Murata, Ryo Takegawa, and Kenta Nakano. A quick background on some of the participating artists:

Masayuki Kojo

Based in Uji, Kyoto, Masayuki Kojo’s motto is “A warrior is not a fighter, but a warrior is one who has determination”. Kojo operates as a “painter specializing in warrior painting” and uses sumi ink to depict the “preparation” of the warriors of the Warring States period.

Kojo has performed live art himself with the aim of expanding the recognition of “live art” and realizing “Live Art Koshien”, a festival for high school artists with the aim of “changing the future of painters”.

In recent years, Kojo has collaborated on Star Wars and The Avengers films, manga, anime, and video games. The joint warrior image was made possible by a conversation with singer Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi. The Yomiuri Giants x Under Armor x Masayuki Kojo 3-way crossover has garnered a lot of attention, and its collaborative warrior imagery with diverse genres such as sports, artists, and sports brands has become a hot topic.

Kenichi Asano

Kenichi Asano uses a mix of classical and digital sculpting techniques. Previously, Asano used “possession” as a theme, where he fused elements of pop culture and sublimated them into contemporary art.

While working on shrine statues, Asano has also released a real-life avatar robot called “Possessed” in recent years. In 2021, Asano collaborated with Naohito Funabashi on the Phantom virtual space. It represents the next evolution of sculpture.

Crazy chocolate

She started creating illustrations in 2018 with a desire to pass on traditional Japanese culture to the younger generation. Her unique style is characterized by the incorporation of Japanese tradition and street art. In 2019 she started ^on_ENCOUNT a street-style haori brand that blends traditional craftsmanship with a modern, easy-to-wear aesthetic.
