You are invited! Join ISA at our Cornbelters Stadium Soy Takeover

The Illinois Soybean Association will continue our Summer of Soy series of events with a baseball game at Cornbelters Stadium in Normal, Illinois. Watch the Cornbelters take on the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp on July 29th at 5pm! The Summer of Soy events campaign is designed to create greater understanding and appreciation for soy-based products and the Illinois soybean farmers behind them, while providing summertime fun for community members across the state.


Heartland Community College breaks ground on agricultural facility

Heartland Community College has begun construction of a 29,500 square foot facility and outdoor cultivation labs that will support agricultural programs and the next generation of farm workers. ISA is a proud sponsor of the facility’s soil laboratory.


ISA attends the MENA SEC Regional Steering Committee meeting

ISA Board Member Mark Read, ISA Trade and Export Manager Eileen Urish and IL Growers Stan Borne and Doug Winters attended the MENA SEC Regional Steering Committee meeting in Cairo, Egypt, home of the first Global Soybean Center of Excellence (SEC) , part. SECs are designed to help emerging markets address their protein challenges and create a cascade of demand for soy products by providing sustainable, renewable learning models.

Welcome DeAnna Thomas, ISA’s Media Relations Manager
ISA has appointed DeAnna Thomas of Manito, Illinois as Media Relations Manager. A former agricultural marketer, agricultural educator and FFA consultant, Thomas will manage the day-to-day media work requirements of the organization such as: B. preparing written press materials, managing interview requests and preparing speaking points for speakers.

Welcome Todd Main, Director of Market Development at ISA
ISA has also appointed Todd Main as Director of Market Development. With more than 20 years of experience, Main will develop new strategies to support ISA’s goals in trade, livestock, transportation and logistics, new uses for soy, biodiesel, human nutrition and others. Main will also monitor opportunities to increase soybean market share in existing and new markets.

Farmers face new challenges every season, but adversity can serve as a motivating force for innovation. Some of these innovations were showcased during our Soy Around the State media tour on June 28-29.
