The probiotic beverage company Yakult will join the Leicester Tigers Associate Partner Program in the 2021/22 season.
The Japanese company has grown into one of the largest brands in the world with over 40 million Yakult products consumed daily in 40 countries and regions around the world.
The scientist Dr. Shirota, who researched microorganisms for many years, succeeded in 1930 in discovering a unique strain of lactic acid bacteria. He used this variety, now known as L. casei Shirota, to make a fermented milk drink – and that’s how the first bottle of Yakult was made in 1935.
As part of the partnership, Yakult will benefit from a range of promotional opportunities with the club, as well as a range of digital activations for fans to participate in.
A Leicester Tigers Associate Partnership package provides a flexible entry-level solution for companies to support the club and combine their business goals.
Mark Davies, Director of Business Development at Leicester Tigers, said: “We are delighted to have Yakult in the Tigers family and we look forward to working with them throughout the season. Our partners continue to play an important role at all levels throughout the club and it’s fantastic to have another global brand on board. “
Kevin Mansell, National Sales Director at Yakult UK & Ireland said: ‘We are proud to support the Leicester Tigers, bring their daily Yakult to the team and cheer them on this season. We are excited to become an Associate Partner and hope to inspire their wellbeing and happiness. “
