Invictus Gamings carrier Jin “flyfly” Zhiyi, team manager Yakult and trainer Su “super” Peng tested positive for COVID-19 after another round of PCR tests.
The Chinese organization posted the update late last night as translated by Dot Esports. PSG.LGD, elephant, and Vici Gaming continued to test negative, meaning only Aster and IG from The International 10 could be affected.
After news of the Team Aster outbreak on September 29, each club quickly sent their players for PCR testing as all Chinese teams are staying in the same hotel.
While IG initially reported all members negative, Thiay “JT-” Jun Wen’s positive test a day later raised concerns in the Chinese camp. Unfortunately for the team, more members of IG are affected, with symptoms ranging from none to mild fever and headache.
The team has suspended training since September 29th and all players and staff continue to self-isolate and await instructions from the tournament organizer, PGL.
TI10 is slated to begin in five days, starting with the group stage, which is traditionally played in hotel rooms. As the schedules are not yet announced, affected teams may receive accommodations from Valve and PGL.
